For instance, the North Korea-linked threat actor UNC2970 used Google's Gemini AI model to conduct reconnaissance and profile high-value targets for campaign planning.^[4] ### Cybersecurity Response and Future Outlook The rapid advancement of AI in offensive cyber operations presents significant challenges for traditional security measures. Signature-based detection struggles when AI-driven malware can rewrite its code on the fly.^[3][8] This necessitates a fundamental shift in how organizations approach defense.^[3] However, AI also offers powerful defensive capabilities. AI-driven security mechanisms are emerging as a crucial countermeasure.
